Canda Six Fortune Enterprise Co. Ltd. is one of the leading importers and distributors of Asian food products from the Pacific Rim and other regions of the world. We are currently looking for a part-time Legal Administrative Assistant to join our Legal & Compliance team in BC.

Position Summary:

The Legal Administrative Assistant reports to the Legal & Compliance Officer and supports the Legal & Compliance Department by carrying out various administrative and legal duties, including: legal and compliance documentation preparation, coordination and filing, providing internal department data management, preparing internal meeting agenda and minutes, legal research, simple document and correspondence drafting; thereby increasing the efficiency and productivity of the Legal & Compliance Department.

Working Hours:

  • Part-time: 24 hours per week
  • 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Tuesday to Thursday

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare, organize and file legal and compliance documents as required – (10%)
  2. File management including organizing and managing documents, updating binders and filing (both hard and electrical copies)  – (20%)
  3. Prepare Legal & Compliance internal meeting agenda, minutes and partial attendance of meetings – (15%)
  4. Draft simple legal document and correspondence – (20%)
  5. Compile, proofread and revise drafts of legal documents and reports -(15%)
  6. Conduct legal research and analysis – (10%)
  7. Perform special project support (e.g. Price Increase, etc.) and other assigned duties – (10%)

Requirements / Must-Haves:

  • At least 1 year working experience, experience in legal admin assistant role preferred
  • Analytical thinker with detailed research proficiencies
  • Experience in basic drafting of legal documents and general correspondence
  • Strong in managing database in a systematic way
  • Fantastic organizational skills and detail oriented
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Brilliant written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to gather and understand information from a variety of sources and accurately relay it to team members

Assets / Nice-to-Haves:

  • Good oral and written communication skills in Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin)
  • Previous experience working in a legal environment
  • Graduation from an accredited Legal Administrative Assistant program
