Canda Six Fortune Enterprise Co. Ltd. is one of the leading importers and distributors of Asian food products from the Pacific Rim and other regions of the world. We are currently looking for a full-time Legal Administrative Assistant to join our Legal & Compliance team in BC.

Position Summary:

The Legal Administrative Assistant reports to the Legal & Compliance Manager and to provide legal and compliance documentation preparation, maintain & follow up department working schedule/calendar, coordination and filing duties (such as contract requisition review, & management, price increase procedures checklist & filing, Loblaw quarterly disclosure, policy and compliance program support e.g. Privacy Policy etc.), internal department data management, prepare internal meeting agenda & minutes, legal research, simple documents and correspondence drafting by referencing templates and precedents. A co-op student/intern under the undergraduate program would be also considered if the applicant has excellent reading and writing as well as organizational skills.

Working Hours:

  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday; 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain & follow up L&C department working schedule/calendar – (10%)
  2. Prepare, organize and file legal and compliance documents as required – (10%)
  3. File management including organizing and managing documents, updating binders and filing (both hard and electrical copies)  – (20%)
  4. Prepare Legal & Compliance internal meeting agenda, minutes and partial attendance of meetings – (10%)
  5. Draft simple legal document and correspondence – (20%)
  6. Compile, proofread and revise drafts of legal documents and reports -(15%)
  7. Conduct legal research and analysis – (5%)
  8. Perform special project support (e.g. Price Increase, etc.) and other assigned duties – (10%)

Requirements / Must-Haves:

  • At least 1 year working experience, experience in legal admin assistant role preferred
  • Analytical thinker with detailed research proficiencies
  • Experience in basic drafting of legal documents and general correspondence
  • Strong in managing database in a systematic way
  • Fantastic organizational skills and detail oriented
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Brilliant written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to gather and understand information from a variety of sources and accurately relay it to team members

Assets / Nice-to-Haves:

  • Good oral and written communication skills in Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin)
  • Previous experience working in a legal environment
  • Graduation from an accredited Legal Administrative Assistant program
