Canda Six Fortune Enterprise Co. Ltd. is a leading importer and distributor of food products from the Pacific Rim and other regions of the world. We are currently looking for someone who is client-focused to be the Sales Representative to support the Sales Team with our Asian Market sub-department of Sales.

Position Summary:

The Asian Market – Sales Representative reports to the Asian Market & Mainstream Market Sales Director and is a team-player to support the Sales department in achieving sales targets. The role involves the Sales Representative to travel locally to meet customers for sales meetings. The Asian Market portfolio involves selling to local grocery retail stores and sourcing for new clients within the local Asian market.

Responsibilities:

• Achieve sales targets and objectives
• Actively promote and introduce new products to meet diverse customer needs, maximize market penetration and customer satisfaction.
• Increase and maintain product penetration by understanding customer needs and market dynamics.
• Resolve customer issues and problems with a sense of urgency and professionalism, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Regularly collect accounts receivable payments, maintaining diligent oversight to prevent aging debts.
• Develop and implement strategies for the clearance of short expiry products to minimize losses.
• Conduct product and market research to stay ahead of market trends and to support the company’s growth.
• Observe and report on in-store competitive product/promotional activities, providing insights for strategic adjustments.
• Regularly visit stores in the Calgary and Edmonton areas, adapting frequency based on market demands and opportunities to optimize sales and market coverage.

Requirements/ Must-Haves:

• Basic verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated planning and organizing skills.
• Basic product knowledge and sales know-how.
• Ability to frequently lift/carry cases of product up to 20 kg without assistance.
• Proficiency with PC, including a working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Use of a reliable vehicle with a valid driver’s license is required; understanding of any associated travel expense reimbursements.
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is a must.
• Demonstrates cultural sensitivity and an understanding of the Asian market’s dynamics.

Assets/ Nice-to-Haves:

• Previous experience in sales or merchandising roles, especially within the Asian market, is highly regarded.
• Proficiency in Chinese (both verbal and written) will be considered a significant asset, supporting effective engagement with a diverse client base.
• Knowledge of additional languages spoken in key Asian markets (e.g., Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese) is also an asset.
