Canda Six Fortune is one of the leading wholesalers and distributors of Asian food products. We are currently looking for a Junior Accountant to work in our office in BC.

Position Summary:

The Junior Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager and has an integral role in the daily operations of the Accounting Department. The ideal candidate will provide support to the Finance team, duties include full Accounts Payable processing, bank reconciliations, maintaining fixed asset ledgers and reconciliations, budget reports and financial reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Process transactions in the company’s accounting system in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures (prepaid expenditures, inventory, fixed assets, Accounts Payable and deferred revenue.
  • Interact with operational personnel to answer questions or accumulate information.
  • Print out all ONT DIV invoices/documents, pass PO# invoices to merchant for approval
  • Check all invoices/TT request forms & enter into ACCPAC system
  • Process weekly check run/TT request forms
  • Filing
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Month-end tasks
  • Assist the management team with ad-hoc related tasks

Requirements/ Must-Haves:

  • Completion of accounting related coursework or credentials, such as a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in an Accounting or Business discipline
  • Knowledge of basic GAAP practices, accounting and financial principles
  • Intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Excel (e.g. vlookup, pivot tables & other data mapping functions) as well as other Microsoft Office Programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to meet deadlines while handling competing and changing priorities
  • Ability to display a professional manner and approach with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems
  • Ability to protect sensitive company information and maintain confidentiality
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada

Assets/ Nice-to-Haves:

  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience
  • Preferably enrolled in the CPA program
  • Familiarity with ACCPAC would be an asset
